The American Philosophy AND ITS UNDERPINNINGS
Having read my book, The American Mind: The Answer, you understand how America happened philosophically. Compared to countries colonized by nations intent on plunder, like what happened in Central and South America, to have America’s forebearers steeped in Judeo-Christian doctrine, and determined to build a society where that doctrine could be lived to the fullest, gave the United States a sharply contrasting start.
To call America’s beginning historically unique is gross understatement. While historians have varied in their treatment of our Puritan Pilgrims, they have either avoided or were—are—incapable of understanding the breadth and depth that such a way of seeing and managing one’s life exerts on the outcome of that life.
In clarifying America’s unique beginning, the first few podcasts on this website sequentially explain how the earliest European-Americans thought as they built their new home. They make clear why the United States did not turn out like Central or South America, or anyplace else on earth. It is not by good luck that the United States has accomplished all for mankind that it has. It is by Judeo-Christian pragmatism vigorously applied.
Yes, the American Mind is The Answer. Present any of life’s problems to a classical American Mind, and it will find its best solution. The United States proves it so.
